The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses, APHON, is a national professional organization for pediatric hematology/oncology nurses.  Its members are dedicated to promoting optimal nursing care for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders and their families.

The Texas Gulf Coast local APHON chapter serves pediatric hematology and oncology nurses from the greater Houston area from three major children’s hospitals. Texas Children’s Hospital, Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center Children’s Hospital. In 2026 Texas Children’s Hospital Cancer and Hematology departments joined with MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Center to become the Kinder Cancer Center.

We host monthly-bimonthly educational meetings for our chapter members and other interested nurses. We hosted an educational symposium in June of 2026 and we are looking forward to hosting another one in the summer of 2027!
